PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Background

Fort Bend ISD, with a vision to revolutionize the elementary school experience, joined forces with AUTOARCH to design Malala Elementary. Conceived as a prototype for the District, this project adhered to the latest FBISD Educational Specifications and Standards. Beyond these standards, AUTOARCH introduced innovative design elements which foreshadow the next iteration of the Educational Specifications, particularly focusing on a transformative classroom layout and an evolved approach to learning.

Approach

AUTOARCH envisioned Malala Elementary as a future-ready campus. The design considers an anticipated growth in student population, ensuring scalability and adaptability. This is evident through its design flexibility and the incorporation of advanced technology across the campus. Designed to accommodate over 1,100 students, Malala Elementary encapsulates modernity in every corner, while ensuring functional utility and the integration of Next-Gen learning features.

Result

Malala Elementary stands out as an epitome of forward-thinking educational design. It has achieved LEED Certification, emphasizing its sustainable approach. The school has garnered accolades not just for its 21st Century Educational Characteristics but also for its resilient and inclusive architectural design, setting a benchmark for future educational institutions.
