Stafford Municipal School District has its K-12 facilities located on a single campus. With expanding student population, the existing middle school had only been able to house grades 7 – 8. As part of the 2017 Bond, Stafford’s new Middle School sits across the Education Plaza from the High School and creates a state of the art school for grades 6 – 8. Situated on a tight site, the school features a three-story education wing that allows for a smaller school footprint while creating a landmark attraction as the highest feature in the municipal campus. The school’s exterior utilizes materials that are similar to the existing buildings, which was important to the community.
Life safety and security were of the upmost importance, and AUTOARCH worked one on one with the School Principal, Administration, and Security consultants to create a secure learning environment that can be easily monitored. AUTOARCH was conscious of the project budget for the fiscally responsible District and through innovative and deliberate design, the Middle School came in nearly $2M under the District’s budget. This allowed the District to accept all Alternates, including adding an additional 9 classrooms.
