Project Description

The LSC Health Professions Center consists of 48,000 SF that houses multiple medical simulation labs and a full dental suite with 24 dental chairs. The suite is fully operational and open to the public. The state-of-the-art building houses medical spaces for students in the five healthcare industries: dental assisting, dental hygiene, nursing, occupational therapy assistant, and respiratory care. Spaces include a Radiology Learning Suite, Life Skills Suite, Skills Labs, Nursing Labs and Classrooms, a Rehab Gym, and numerous instructional classrooms, administration spaces, and collaboration flex spaces.

The two-story building sits on the Kingwood Campus of Lone Star College and utilizes materials that tie into the existing aesthetic of the campus, but in a modern approach. The Kingwood Campus embodies Kingwood’s motto, the Living Forest and great care has been taken to maintain a forest like setting in the campus. The HPC building was designed and located in such a way as to minimally disrupt the natural setting of the campus and to preserve the trees on campus.
